Overview
Internal business management modules for handling purchase and sales returns, featuring multi-tier approval workflows, inventory tracking, and printable PDF audit reports.
Problem & goals
Manual handling of merchandise returns caused inventory discrepancies and lacked audit trails for supervisory authorization before adjusting stock levels.
My contribution
Developed end-to-end return modules using Laravel and MySQL, including frontend forms, backend business logic, and automated database inventory updates upon approval. Generated structured printable PDF return documentation.
Process & technical decisions
Implemented a strict pending-to-approved state machine preventing inventory modifications until verified by authorized personnel. Collaborated within a 5-member development team adhering to GitHub pull requests and code reviews.
Results & lessons learned
Eliminated manual return tracking discrepancies, streamlined inventory reconciliation, and maintained high code quality through peer review workflows.
